This post is sponsored by Dave’s Killer Bread. I used their awesome White Bread Done Right for this Killer Roast Beef Sandwich. Be sure to follow them on Instagram and Facebook for delicious bread goodness.
A few months ago I started noticing a new bread in my regular grocery store. It had a pretty rocking label and looked good so I grabbed a loaf. It quickly became our household sandwich bread.
When I got an email from that exact same company, Dave’s Killer Bread, last month asking if I wanted to participate in a fun challenge, I jumped at the chance.
The challenge was pretty straightforward: Create a sandwich that you can make in the time it takes to play your favorite ROCK song!
I thought about gaming the system and picking the original In A Gadda Davida (17:05) as my song, but I knew that wasn’t exactly in the spirit of the challenge.
The song I did pick was from one of my favorite new bands and I was totally able to make this sandwich before it was done!

The Song
I picked a really fun song called “I Need to Never Get Old” by Nathaniel Rateliff & the Night Sweats.
The music video runs 4:26 which gives a few extra seconds over the album version (4:13).
Spoiler, I crushed this challenge. My bread took 3 minutes to toast, which was the longest part. I prepped my toppings while it toasted and slapped everything together in a few seconds when my bread was done. Easy eats, people!
Killer Beef Caprese Sandwich
This bread is not the white bread you grew up on (assuming you grew up on the white bread I grew up on).
It has a soft texture to it, like you would want from a white sandwich bread, but it’s pocked with seeds and grains and all kinds of deliciousness.
Here are the stats for those curious. It’s pretty hard to find a loaf of bread that stacks up in the stores!
There are only a few ingredients other than the bread. It doesn’t have to be complicated to be good!
The key to this sandwich is to get nice, fresh mozzarella (the kind in the brine) and a really ripe tomato. That shouldn’t be hard this time of year!
Add a little whole grain mustard to the bread and layer on the ingredients. I like beef, cheese, tomato, basil, but if you’re rushed for time, the order isn’t too important!
CHOMP CHOMP CHOMP!

Awesome! Yea… I’m really into it. I haven’t tried ALL their varieties yet but all the ones I’ve tried have been really great!

That makes a large sandwich, very tasty. Had to make it with the small mozzarella cheese balls, only option at the local market. Looking forward to your grilled cheese sandwich tomorrow.

Dave’s Killer Bread IS the best! Love it! Especially the Good Seed varieties in the bright yellow and green packaging. Nice that Costco has been carrying it now for quite a while. And Nathaniel Rateliff — also the best!!!
