Big news everyone!

I’ve had a really fun secret sitting in my brain for over a year now and I finally get to talk about it.

Tonight is the debut of a new cooking game show on NBC called “Food Fighters” and I’m going to be one of the eight home cooks featured on the first season!

Food Fighters Basics

“Food Fighters” combines compelling competition and game show fun with a cool twist – giving every day home cooks a once-in-a-lifetime chance to compete against world class chefs in the ultimate culinary showdown. Instead of $10,000 or $15,000, the eight competitors each get a chance to win a whopping $100,000.

Each episode will feature a really talented home cook, armed only with recipes for their signature dishes, who will compete against five professional chefs.

To give the home cooks (like me) a fighting chance against the seasoned pros, the pros have no idea which of the contestant’s “signature dishes” they will have to prepare until right before they make it.

BUT, at the same time, the home cooks don’t know which chef they will be cooking against!

You might have a situation where a home cook is making a family favorite potato salad recipe against a Michelin star chef for $20,000! (I just came up with this as an example. I don’t know any of the actual match-ups besides my own which I’ll share more about later).

And that’s just one round out of five that each home cook will go through on an episode. Each episode is packed with action and I think they will be really fun to watch. It’ll be a great show to watch as a family and, obviously, if you like to cook!
