Quick! Name one thing you make with old bananas. Nope! Not banana bread. Banana Pudding! I had some old bananas sitting around but didn’t want to turn on my oven so I whipped up this Banana Cocoa Pudding.

This recipe is ridiculously easy to make but got the OKAY from my kiddos. They are very hard judges when it comes to pudding.

My five-year old actually had the wonderful idea of eating this for breakfast one day with granola on top. I let it happen. Seemed healthier than sugary cereal!

Next time you have some brown bananas, give this a shot!

What to use in your Banana Pudding

Well, you need bananas obviously. But I also wanted a few creamy things. Enter an avocado and yogurt. Then I added some honey and Nutella for sweetness.

Ingredients for Banana Cocoa pudding

I added my non-chocolatey stuff to my blender first – mostly for the photo. I think you could just toss it all in without too much worry.

The cocoa powder and Nutella are the real flavor drivers here. Everything else just kind of blends together.

It’s amazing how smooth and creamy this gets. It has a very similar consistency to chocolate pudding that you would cook on the stovetop but without all the cooking.

Serving and Storage

This pudding is great straight out of the blender but it does thicken up a bit more if you let it chill for an hour or two.

If you are storing the banana cocoa pudding in the fridge, cover it directly with plastic wrap to prevent some browning. Eat it within a few days!
