Some of my favorite summer meals are usually casual hangs at parks, pools, or sporting events where people bring a variety of dishes and share. Potluck style. These Turkey Club Sliders have been my go-to contribution for this sort of meal for the last few weeks and they are a HIT.

While you could get fancy with these sliders, I personally like to keep them pretty simple. A good sauce, some deli turkey, crispy bacon, and veggies and you are in business. Let’s SLIDE into some great summer hangs!

My favorite buns for sliders

There are many options when it comes to slider buns. Almost any will work for these sliders. Personally I like the Hawaiian buns but sometimes I find them to be a bit small.

If you can find them, St. Pierre bakery makes some really delicious Brioche slider buns that are a favorite for me as well.

Toasted bun.

Don’t overthink it too much though. Any slider bun will work just fine!

How to make crispy bacon for sliders

I prefer to bake my bacon, especially when I’m adding it to sandwiches. It keeps the strips nice and straight and also ensures that they get extra crispy and delicious.

Bacon added to sliders.

To bake bacon, just line a baking sheet with foil and then add your strips of bacon. Bake it for 15-20 minutes at 400˚F and it’ll be perfect. If you use the thick-cut bacon, this will take longer.

For sandwiches, I’d recommend just using the traditional cut bacon.

How to make dijonnaise

Dijonnaise is an easy and classic sauce that goes well on turkey sandwiches or sliders. I make mine with a ratio of 4-1 mayonnaise to mustard. You could go with a higher ratio but my family isn’t huge on mustard so I keep the mustard ratio down.

You could also add some fresh lemon to the sauce or even some hot sauce if you wanted to give it a spicy kick. It’s really creamy though and adds some much needed fat to these turkey club sliders.

Tips for great turkey club sliders

Here are a few tips for great sliders!

  • Toast just the bottom bun of the slider. This will give it some texture so it doesn’t get soggy, but will leave your top bun nice and soft.
  • Use good deli turkey and get it sliced fresh for sandwiches.
  • Use ripe tomatoes and season them with salt.
Finishing the club sliders.

Substitutions

There are SO many substitutions for this sandwich. You can really make it your own. Here are a few ideas!

  • Change out the turkey for ham or roast beef for a different profile.
  • Add scrambled eggs to the sliders for a fun breakfast slider.
  • Add shredded lettuce to the sliders to make them more like a traditional club sandwich.

Packing these sliders to go

If you are packing these turkey club sliders to go, the easiest way to pack them up is in a large aluminium foil dish. 12 sliders fits pretty perfectly in a medium or large dish and you can cover it easily and keep it in the fridge until it’s time to go.

Leftovers

I wouldn’t want to keep any leftover sandwiches more than a day or two. After that they start to get pretty sad, but they definitely keep fine for a day or two in the fridge so don’t feel like you have to throw them out!
